At MAKE we celebrate and champion people who defeated the odds, inscribed their names in innovation, creativity, changing the world for the good. We’re inspired by the ‘high priest’ of Polka Dots Yayoi Kusama who just turned 84 years old.

Yayoi had admitted herself voluntarily into a mental institution where she’s been living since 1975 and has made most of her artworks.

“Since my childhood, I have always made works with polka dots. Earth, moon, sun and human beings are all represent dots; a single particle among billions. This is one of my important philosophies, which is accepted by many people.”

Happy birthday Yayoi Kusama
